What is the Cruise Route?

The Cruise route is Gratiot Avenue from 14 Mile Road to Wellington Crescent (north of Metropolitan Parkway) and back, through beautiful Clinton Township.

When is the Cruise?

The Cruise has always been held on the first Sunday of August since 2003.  This year it will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2023, officially from noon to 6 p.m., with festivities starting as early as 9 a.m.

Who is Invited?

This is a FREE public event for residents, friends, family and out-of-towners with or without classic vehicles. You may find a spot to lay out a blanket, or set up lawn chairs for watching, park your classic in a business parking lot or at Cruise Headquarters as part of the Car Show, or join one of the many business events to start your day while enjoying a nice stroll on foot up and down Gratiot to see all the sites.

What are the rules?

Have fun!!! When cruising please stay in the outside lanes. Be cautious of others and be safe. Be ready for any trouble with engines. Watch for brake lights not working and be ready.

Who are the Cruise Sponsors?

Sponsors are just the best!! Several businesses in Clinton Township have donated and are now considered a Cruise Sponsor. Sponsorships cover the cost for all you see all day long, along with the pre-planning including promotions, entertainment, police/security, children’s activities, merchandise, prizes, etc. You can see sponsors listed on the cruise website and 2023 posters posted in businesses six weeks before the cruise. Say thanks to a sponsor.

How do I get official Cruise merchandise?

You have several ways to get your official 2023 Cruise merchandise:

  • Purchase merchandise when sales open online in early July 2023 through the Cruise website.  Either pay for shipping or pick up your order at any one of our Pre-Cruise Car Shows.
  • Purchase merchandise at any of the Pre-Cruise Car Shows.
  • Purchase merchandise at the booths at Cruise Headquarters or Family Fun Zone locations.
  • Purchase online through the Cruise website after the Cruise is over, and have it shipped directly to you.

What is the "Pedal Car Race"?

For years children have enjoyed cruising Gratiot as much as the adults, making the Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise a fun family event. Bring your pedal car to the Family Fun Zone to be part of the pedal car race or to park it for the day. We make it a point to include pedal cars.  The Pedal Car Race will happen in the Family Fun Zone at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Cruise day.

What is the Family Fun Zone?

11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the AMC Theater at 15 Mile & Gratiot.  The Family Fun Zone is open to the public.  The Family Fun Zone is home to sponsor and community booths, food vendors, the Kids Zone organized by the Clinton Township Parks & Recreation Department.

Is there a Car Show?

Cruise Headquarters has a public Car Show for $20. Car Show parking opens at 8 a.m. cruise day and closes at 6 p.m. Registration will also be available at any of the pre-cruise car shows prior to the cruise. Entrance in the car show guarantees a parking spot at Cruise Headquarters all day long and the opportunity to be included in the Cruise Parade! Cars will be judged. Each owner will receive a goodie bag and more! There will also be door prizes and car show prizes given.
